A Musical review from a BIG Rajini fan

Over the world expectations, audio rights sold for huge prices and crowds thronging the audio stores from day 1- all these things happen for nothing other than a Rajini Film`s audio release. It was no different with Kuselan with a big audio launch adding to the hype surrounding it. The person in the spotlight- G.V. Prakash Kumar the nephew of Rehman himself. A sincere debut in Veyil for sure which has got him this big oppurtunity which every music director will envy. Sadly though G.V.Prakash has not showed half the maturity that his uncle had shown back during his Roja and Kadhalan days. The songs, even though brilliantly sound engineered tottally fails to impress as the tunes are of Ad jingles type. G.V.Prakash has in the true sense forgot he is composing for a Rajini film. The songs lack the fresh feeling that Rehman was able to give in films like Muthu, and rely solely on the heavy beats to make him a hit. The Music director has lost an oppurtunity to go to a new horizon with this project. An effort from a person of this age must not be criticised, sadly though it lacks any elements that can be lauded. The audio sales broke a record on the first day and the credit must only to the fact that Rajini is acting in the film. If the audio of this movie has to go places, the visualisation must play a role or there is little hope for this album.
